Slacking off? No way! Our workshop remains booked out for a couple of weeks in advance. Is it the increased number of bike commuters into Melbourne's CBD (up by 7% on last year as reported by Bicycle Network)? Is it cost of living pressures prompting people to maintain and repair what they have over buying replacements? We think it's probably a bit of both.
If your bike is due for a service, if something doesn't work properly, doesn't feel or sound right - please don't wait until it wears out or breaks before coming in or contacting our team.

We aim to offer same day servicing. To assist us with this, we request customers deliver their bikes to us between 9-10am on the day of their service (or the afternoon before), and are requested to collect their bikes on the same day their service is completed.

Velo Cycles - Merri-bek City Council Bike Counter Update
Dry weather usually means good rider numbers, but we had some pretty hot days in March. Combined with Easter/school holidays coming right at the end of the month, our March total bucked the usual trend of previous years (2020 being an obvious exception) and instead was only slightly higher than February - by just 90 riders! The increase in monthly totals from February to March over the last 10 years averages at 5,333 bikes(or 6,570 bikes if 2020 isn't included).
The monthly total for March was 91,718, with a daily average of 2,959 riders. The best day of the month was Wednesday 6 March which saw 4,056 riders past the counter.
Layer up to keep riding and smiling through autumn and winter! Let's see how close we can get to 1 million riders this year!
